The training is called Operation at Ease.Fire officials said this allows firefighters to simulate calls that include a service dog in the home and how to properly handle it. Officials said it can be scary for both the firefighter, who is not comfortable with the dog at a home they go to, as well as for the animal who may see the firefighters in all of their gear and cannot see their face. Residents said the water pressure increased over the weekend."We can run the dishwasher now. The first day, you could only flush the toilet one at a time," said Lindsey Dudenhoeffer.Water crews worked around the clock over the weekend to bring relief and help stabilize water pressure."To isolate this, we're interrupting the normal flow through our system to serve some neighborhoods," said Curtis Skouby, director of public utilities. "One of the things that we're challenged to do is find high-pressure water in our system and a path to get it to these neighborhoods." Shanita Lewis always hoped to receive a diploma from Denver’s Manual High School and, on Monday evening, it finally happened — more than a decade after the school temporarily closed and displaced hundreds of students. Lewis was one of 11 former Manual High students to receive honorary diplomas from Denver Public Schools during a meeting of the Board of Education. “It mattered that our school closed,” said Lewis, who was a freshman when Manual closed in 2006. She graduated from George Washington High School in 2009. “All these years later, it still has shaped and affected the lives of so many young adults.” The effort to have DPS award Manual High diplomas to any student affected by the closure has been underway at the district for at least a year. On Monday, DPS turned part of the evening’s school board meeting into a mini-graduation ceremony to honor former Manual students. Former Manual students, dressed in graduation caps, “walked” across a room at D...Mom, 2 young daughters killed in tragic Mother's Day crash on 10 Freeway in Riverside County

The crash happened around 7:30 a.m. in Whitewater, a town located about 15 minutes northwest of Palm Springs. Officers with the California Highway Patrol responded to the scene on the eastbound 10 Freeway just west Haugen-Lehmann Way, but not before other motorists and Good Samaritans attempted to help the victims. “When I got into that one lane, I looked ahead of me there was this kid in the fourth lane flailing around on the ground, and people were just driving around him,” Dr. Timothy Jochen told KTLA. The dermatologist pulled up to the aftermath of the deadly crash and says it’s a scene he will never forget. “So, I stopped, parked in the median, got out of my car and ran up to the kid,” Jochen said. “I may not be the best person there.
