WESTPORT, Conn. (AP) — Police and Coast Guard personnel in Connecticut were searching Monday for two men a day after they went missing when their small fishing boat sank in the Long Island Sound, authorities said.Three other people were rescued after the fishing boat sank Sunday off Westport, police said.A boater traveling near Westport spotted a man standing on a navigational buoy around 4 p.m. Sunday, Westport Police spokesperson Lt. Eric Woods said in a news release. Another man and a woman were rescued from the water nearby, Woods said. All three people were taken to a hospital for evaluation.A translator was requested and once officers were able to speak with the three people, they learned a total of five people had been on the fishing boat when it sank, Woods said.Officers from Westport and several other area police departments as well as the Coast Guard began searching for the two missing boaters. (KOIN) -- An Alaska Airlines plane made an emergency landing at Portland International Airport after a "credible threat to an authorized occupant" on board.According to Alaska Airlines, Flight 2059 was headed from Everett, Washington, to San Francisco when they reported a credible threat.The Port of Portland said an off-duty employee from a different airline caused a disturbance in the cockpit of the plane. FISHKILL, N.Y. (NEWS10) -- On Sunday, New York State Police arrested a suspect in connection to the fatal motor vehicle crash that occurred on October 21. Aida Y. Police determined that Miranda struck a victim on Merritt Boulevard and left without reporting the incident. ST. CHARLES COUNTY, Mo. -- DNA from a discarded tea bottle identified a St. Charles County burglary suspect. Jacobie Thompson is now under arrest and faces several charges connected to a home break-in. A woman returned to her home in St. Charles County on September 16th and realized that someone had stolen several pieces of her jewelry. The missing items included a pair of diamond earrings worth $2,000, a $500 class ring, a Kate Spade wristlet worth $50, and $500 in cash.Police were called to investigate the incident. They found the Kate Spade wristlet in the backyard, along with their small home security camera and an opened Gold Peak tea bottle.
